- Born at the Owatonna City Hospital August 1st 1945
- Attended District #11 country school in Havana MN, through grade 6. (2 miles east of Owatonna)
- Graduated from Owatonna High School in 1963.
- Spent eight years in the United States Air Force with tours of duty in Texas, Philippines, California, Utah, and England.
- Was employed by the Owatonna Public Utilities on December 16th 1971 as a meter reader.
- Was promoted to General Manager of the Owatonna Public Utilities in 1997 and retired after 32 years of service in 2003.
- Married to Shelby and will be celebrating our 42nd anniversary this year.
- We have three children:
- Kimberly married to Tom Wallaker
- Jennifer married to Steve Colehour with son MacTaggart.
- Matthew married to Carisa with children Kahler, Madeline, and Matthew.
- Member of Trinity Lutheran Church
- Former President, Coalition of Minnesota Cities Board of Directors
- Former President, Highway 14 Coalition.
- Former President, Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency Board of Directors
- Former member, League of Minnesota Cities Board of Directors.
- Member of the American Legion
- Member and former President of the Owatonna Rotary Club
- Owatonna College and University Center Board of Directors
- Graduate of the Blandin Community Leadership Program.
- Long time fisherman and hunter
